OSTEOARTHRITIS & SPONDYLOSIS EXPLAINED. ⠀

SPONDYLOSIS is a common term for age-related wear and tear affecting the spinal discs of the neck and back. Through aging, or even injury, the discs start to dry out and become thinner.⠀

Normal movement and function of the spine is affected, leading to the breakdown of the cartilage in the spinal joints and the formation of bone spurs. This process is called OSTEOARTHRITIS.⠀

Many people who have spondylosis and osteoarthritis have few symptoms other than mild stiffness and pain. But bigger issues, like large bone spurs hitting nearby nerves, and herniated discs can cause shooting pains that travel into the arms or legs.⠀

NOTE: spondylosis is much more common with older individuals. More than 85 percent of people older than 60 years of age will be affected.⠀

If pain due to osteoarthritis or spondylosis is impacting daily actives or at work, it's always best to get a professional opinion. CALL US ANYTIME... we're experienced at treating neck, low back, and sciatica pain.⠀
