THE EVERYDAY LOW BACK AND HIP STRETCH. 👌

Stretching feels really good, especially after a long day. 😌 An important muscle to focus on is a common one with lower back pain: the quadratus lumborum (QL). ⠀

The QL is the deepest abdominal muscle. It's located in the lower back on either side of the lumbar spine. It starts at the lowest rib and ends at the top of the pelvis. ⠀

It's easily one of the prime instigators of low back issues 👹, and this stretch is going to target it, stretching from lower part of the torso to the hips. ⠀

HOW TO STRETCH THE QL MUSCLE:⠀
1️⃣ Stand about an arm's length away from a wall/door.⠀
2️⃣ Place the elbow on the wall/door.⠀
3️⃣ Cross the inside leg over the outside leg.⠀
4️⃣ Bend the hip towards the wall.⠀
5️⃣ Hold for 15 to 30 seconds, repeat 3-5 times per side. ⠀
